In January 2006, JDR Group Ltd (established as JDR Haulage Ltd in 1980) underwent a Management Buy Out (MBO) headed by Jarrod Baughan, who is now Managing Director. Jarrod has worked within the logistics industry for over 20 years. His career has seen him work in varied and challenging operational and commercial roles with logistics environments. His previous employers have been Christian Salvesen PLC, Wholesale Fittings PLC, Parceline PLC and lastly within the start-up of the innovative home shopping success Ocado Ltd.
JDR's history prior to the MBO had seen it grow from humble beginnings in 1980 into a £5.1m turnover business, providing dedicated vehicle contracts, logistics services and distribution to a range of small and large businesses, as well as to the government sector. The wealth of experience within the business and it's continual focus on providing excellent service, meant that JDR had established a culture of continual improvement, innovation and a 'can do' attitude - which is still strong today.
During the first year after the MBO, the team went about re-structuring and shaping the existing business to ensure that it was strong and ready for a new direction in 2007, in readiness for a re-brand and new service proposition. New highly skilled staff joined the business in 2006 bringing more diversity and strength to the existing team and enhancing operational management strength.
From January 2007 the mission is to grow relationships with customers and fellow distribution companies to create an exciting range of facilities and for everyone involved to benefit from the reciprocal benefits of a very different UK distribution model.
